First full real week here in Zarumilla, and what an experience it was... first off dad and mom will you please as soon as you read this send my white pants back and the belt. im sorry for the rush and thank you in advance... well i have my new address for all who wish to write and send letters..

also if you send a dear elder i get them the following week on monday. dad i got your from the 25th today..and i cant send the memory card home because they will get stolen during customs so im printing pictures to send...sorry
Well thats all that now to the good stuff haha this week was an interesting week. we have a lot of investigators who are progressing and a lot who are really struggling and it kills us.. Hernando is 47 and he is really doing well, he attends church every sunday and calls himself mormon but he would never accept a baptism date and no one could figure out why, we spent an entire lesson bearing our testimonies to him and reassuring him that we are here not to judge but support. he finally admitted to a grave sin that will require a trip to piura this week for an interveiw with presidnet chipman ...a 5 hour bus trip one way ... but we have high hopes for him and we know the lord will provide a way for him..
the big thing here to avoid taxes is to not get married but to just live together and call eachother wife or husband and this causes a big problem for us because is they are sexually involved we must first get them married so that they can be living the law of chastity before they can get baptised we are working with 3 families in this situation and working hard and doing our best to get them married haha, ive heard almost every doubt why not to get married since being here! fun stuff haha, one ion particular is Monica. she is 16 and living with and dateing the bishops son, we are working on them getting married this week so she can be baptised on the 20th!!! haha we have 8 investigators with dates but peruvians are easy to make committments and a lot harder to keep them so we are always praying haha if your knees on your pants arent the most torn dirty and mangled part of your pants you arent praying enough here!
well one fun experience that happened this week was that i got robbed by a drunk, quite the adventure.. we were at the door of a member who is a preist in the ward and inviting him to come with us on some of our appointments so that he can prepare for the mission. a man hobbled up to us and grabbed me! he had an open container of liquir i dont know what kind but it was very very strong smelling and he was very intoxicated... he had the alchohol and 2 eggs, he grabbed me and started shouting at me in more broken spanish than mine. it was the weirdest feeling when he grabbed me i could feel the spirit leave me and it was like something dark and terrible came over me, one of the worst feelings i have had since being in the mission i hated it.... well he proceeded to shove the eggs in his mouth and them punch himself in the face to crack them. he started chewing them and then swallowed and spit some of the shell out. he kept yelling "soy loco, tengo un problema con la ley de castidad, yo mastubo" he has a problem with chastity lets just say.... but then he chugged the whole thing of liquir and went to grab for my name badge. i hit is hand away and said no way! haha he told me to give him my pen and 3 article of faith cards... thats all he wanted... but he did so while threatening us with a bottle haha, we gladly ablidged his wants and he wrote jehova, amor on one of them, this means jehova love... he gave it to me and started shouting and grabbed my hand we struggled a bit and finally got away, then my comp and i just started running haha we were with him 10 minutes and it was crazy!!!
another fun story is that there are crazy dogs everywhere and we get chased by dogs alot and you get some good excersize... idk its the life of the mission there aint anything better...
things with my comp are a little rocky at times and i am working on pacientce for sure, i catch him talking about me with other latins and he thinks i dont understand him but i can, he likes to call me a dirty pig...i dont know why haha but we keep progressing...
we are always finding ways to serve, we spent yesterday after church at the home of a street contact stripping her walls and sanding and painting the bambo over again, it was fun... good 6 hours of service... it helps us to grow a stronger love for the people here in Zarumilla...
we play a lot of soccer here and im not as bad as i had anticipated, given i dont understand all the shouting and whats going on some of the time i figure that as soon as i get the ball to kick it to a team mate im doing ok.....
it is really hot here and we are always procoliting in 40 degree weather. everything here is in metrics and celcious but for you there in the states thats roughly 104 degrees and its not even the peak of summer its supposed to get up to possibly 120!!!! of man we are going to be dying here! haha its hard to stay hydrated when you dont have clean water to drink so when we do have water we are very gratful....
dad im sending some pictures home in the mail this week and you should get them soon so you can use them for just about whatever haha
the language is coming along just fine... i can read and write and speak just fine its understanding the people that is taking some getting used to! they all speak really quite and they are all really quick talkers.... but poco a poco...little by little i will get better..
i read the book of mormon in spanish in 4 weeks in the mtc... one month!!! it was the coolest experience the translation is so different and you get a totally different perspective on things! i love it...
well, i dont really know what else to say, im just about out of time so i will have to go!

Well hello everyone!
how are you all doing? this week has been an adventure that is for sure!
first off i found out that we live kiddie corner to a cock fighting house and every saturday and sunday night they have fights and we can hear all the screaming and chanting and excitment! here it is really normal for that to be your profession a trainer and cock fighter! weird huh..
this week our bed broke and we have been having some fun times with that and all that it intells to have 4 elders living in the same room, zarumilla is very hot and we are all doing really well gettin tan and sweating off every ounce of fat on our bodies so things are pretty good here.
we have been doing tons of service here! we have been digging holes for bathrooms and building houses, painting and stripping houses and my favorite one... today our bishop asked us to skip p-day and work with him in the "campo" this means feild, and we are talking about the crop feilds! where? in Equador!!! hahaha heck ya we worked with him all this morning in the bananna groves, mango groves, papaya and all this way good stuff and we took some good pictures for you all to see and i will send them as soon as i get a chance.
this week we had a investigator named Hernando have his interview to be baptised with our mission president, presidnet chipman.. we were all really nervous for this one becuase he had confessed to a grave sin and we didnt know what action the presidnet was going to take since it took place so long ago. but as soon as he went in we knelt down and prayed as fervently and as sincerly as we could, an hour later the interveiw was over. Hernando is in need of more time to prepare. he attends church everyweek and calls himself a mormon, but his baptism date is this MAY so we are all excited for that time and will continue to do our best to work with him and his needs.
also monica is a 16 year old who is living with and dating the son of the bishop! she is doing so well and wants to be baptized but first needs to get married to live within accordance to the law of chastity and so we are working diligently on getting them married and we hope to talk to her dad this week and seek his permisison since she is a minor and can not wed without his permission.
her mom Rosa came to talk to us the other day because she had concerns about her daughter joining the church and was upset. as soon as we met her there was this great spirit in the room and she started to cry and told us her life story and all these different things. the lesson we taught was one of the best lessons we have ever taught and wer know the spirit was speaking through us. she accepted a baptism date for the 27th that very same day! lesson 1 with us! wow!!!
when we got to church this sunday the bishop asked me if i would prepare a talk for sacrament which was starting right then!!! haha oh boy! well that is the great thing about being a missionary this is what we do all day every day and i was prepared! i spoke for more than the time i was told and felt the assistance of the gift of tounges in the moment in which i needed it most! the miracles we see everyday here are countless. ive been asked to give a bunch of blessings and i feel so overwhelmed becuase i cant speak spanish but as soon as i put my hands on that persons head its like i am fluent. the lord just speaks and i am his micraphone! it is so amazing!
well tonight at midnight we are traveling to Piura for meetings with the President! 5 hour bus ride in the middle of the night!!!! sweet! haha there is nothin glike the life of a missionary! we love every moment! we will return on wednesday night and cant wait to see whats going on in the other part of the mission.
well this is deffinetly the hardest thing i have ever done. you learn to love the people with all your strength and soul.... when someone is hurting you feel pain for them and when someone chooses to not accept the gosple you hurt inside because you know what they are loosing and it is one of the saddest things ever. you have to learn here that rejection is an everyday thing. we dont have a problem with it, we have been spit at, cursed at, chased, robbed, all kinds of crazy stuff, but we wear the name of our lord and savior jesus christ and he proctects each and everyone of us! we have no fear because we are doing the lords work and know that what ever happens is his will.
our pensionista has the cuttest little girl, her name is Risley Lou, we are there 3 times a day for all our meals and are basically part of the family.... Risley plays with us every meal, she is just learning how to walk and is soooooooooooooooooo adorable! haha
well thats all for me and my time is up! still need to write the president! got to go!

well i am here in my first area in the misison feild, it is called zarumilla. it is 5 hours north of piura, i live 7 minutes from the boarder of equador. it is very hot here and this is a very modest place. everyone is quite poor and very thankful for what they have been given in this life. the people are amazing and it is deffinetly humbling being here and not in the states. it is weird to think about. well my comp is elder ipaz he is from columbia he is a really good trainer, he is teaching me the language and i hope to pick it up pretty quick. we have 5 investigators with baptismal dates this month but peruvians are really easy to make promises but harder to keep them, where i am it is really hot and there are nothing but motorcycle taxies here, i think i have seen about 5 cars since being here. they are all crazy drivers too! i love it i wish i got to drive here on my mission. well im sorry about last week they didnt give us time to email.. this is my dia de preparacion, good ole monday
well things here are good, very humble living circumstances and we dont have water during the days and our toilet is kind of broken, you would never imagine how much of a blessing indoor plumbing is until you dont have it... also we teach in little shanties with tin roofs and they are sooooo dang hot, you are just sitting there sweating like crazy tyring to preach the gospel! i love it it is so fun! haha living here makes me appriciate all the stuff that i had when i was in the states that i took advantage of!
well our pensanista is awesome! the food here is amazing but the water is very scarse and you cant drink or use water around here becuase it is not safe! kinda sketchy but hey if i get a parisite them im gonna get all skinny hahahaha jk...
we are allowed to send 4 letters home a month to anyone so i will try to get some letters out when in have time so that you all can havw the mission address but it is hard when you have so little time becuse you are always doing the lords work and spreading his message.
the latin culture is very different and it takes some getting used too.... modesty here means nothing!!! its sketchy, women and men walk around a little more scandalous here and the breat feeding in public sure is different!!!
we were asked to speak in sacrament meeting being that it was my first sunday and they people in the ward were really receptive, i spoke in my broken spanish and everyone was very kind about it! also everyone here loves the fact that i am asian hahah a loit of people call me chinito... which essentially is " little chinese boy" hahaha
this is such a different experience than i have ever had but it is the best one of my life! i love the mission!!!! if anyone reads this and is debating to go on a misison or not GO GO GO GO GO!!!!

Hey Everyone!
Well this has been an exciting first week here south of the border! first off it is hard to realize that you are over 4.000 miles away from home and everything here is an entirly different culture than what i am used to at home. We arrived in Lima at close to one o}clock in the morning and no one speaks english so that is a different culture shock right away haha we got here to the ccm in lima and got right to work. well technically it was just after 2 am in the morning and we went right to bed but had to get up still at 6:30... im going to apologize in advance because my english is already struggling because i am used to thinking and doing everything in spanish and so it is hard for me to type in english..
Well things here are very much different. our CCM president (CCM is MTC) was in the navy and his first words were ... i run a tight ship around here... he isnt kidding either. there are so many rules here you cant even begin to understand them all... and they are strange too. only one companionship per class during study time, i didnt know about this and me and the other new elders didnt follow this one on the first day, for breaking rules you have to run laps around the CCM. i had to run 5 laps... now i know not to do that one again right. Also here it is very very impolite to eat in public and to not finish all the food that you get so it is very important for us to eat everything that we are given, you will all be so excited to hear that for every single meal we have chicken and rice! haha nothing else.... but the food here is still amazing and i love the culture... we all have latin companions who dont speak english and some of us dont speak spanish well enough to understand. one elder was struggling particularly and apparently ive been doing well because they put me in the advanced group and now im in a trio so that i can help this elder understand spanish. everyone calls me chino becuase i am asain or they call me the translator because i can understand the latins it is kinda funny.. we are required to read the book of mormon during our stay here either in english or in spanish, i chose spanish to help me learn faster... i am in mormon and will be done by this weekend! and I LEAVE FOR THE FEILD ON TUESDAY!!!!!! im so pumped.
well we got the great opportunity to go tracking on saturdays so we are going again tomorrow, it is such a cool experience! we are talking to real people who dont know anything about the gospel!!! this was the best ever, we got in to a home of catholics and they were very sceptical but none the less liked to hear our message, we challenged them to read the book of mormon and attend church on the first visit, they accepted and we got a return appointment for the elders in this area. after taht i was so excited me and my comp were just going to everyone we could find and talking to them! here people love asains for some reason and it helped me at our next home, senora teresa was the next contact that let us into her home. she is soooooo friendly, she said her husband was asain and had passed away and that i reminded her of him. when we entered her house she hugged me and kissed me on the cheek, kind of weird when you are a missionary not gonna lie..... but she was none the less awesome!!!! we talked to her for an hour all about christ and the book of mormon and the gospel...it was great! we gave her a book of mormon and she was so excited to read it and she wanted us to come back but we had to get her contact info and give it to the other elders... we are going again tomorrow and i will have more to report later.
pday here is different, we get to walk around the city and go to the lima temple today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sick!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha and we are going to talk to the poeple so see whats up in this joint! for all you justin beiber fans out there he was here in lima the other night and gave a concert right next to the CCM, he is a nice kid.... we got to chat with him a little and i gave him a book of mormon!!!! haha scratch preach the gospel to a celebrety off my bucket list right! haha
Also yesterday during soccer i got kneed in the leg and ruptured a vein in my leg and it swelled up with blood to the size of a soccer ball! everyone was kinda freaked out but i thought it was awesome! it is starting to go down a little bit now but it is still big. i got a picture just for you mom! your gomma love it!!! haha
well i have to go for now i have the temple but later i think we will have time during our pday to get back on ill check back in with you all then!

Hola como esta mi familia!!!
well today is the first real day here in the ccm in Lima, Peru....
Let me tell you about the trip! i woke up at 4 am early yesterday morning and got dressed and showered and all prepared for the day to come. I reported to the travel office at 4 45 where i received my visa and passport and travel information! there were 11 elders flying to peru and 2 sisters, i was put in charge to be the travel leader and it was a lot of comotion! haha we got on the bus and left just after 5 a.m. then traveled on the bus an hour to the airport and i passed home and everything! it was such a flash back to the civilian life i'll tell you that much! then when we arrived we checked all our luggage and got our tickets and went to the gate, people were making calls home and getting setteled to travel across the country!!! Elder Farnsworth and myself went to go get breakfast in the air port!!!! it was so fun, people love missionaries people always talk to us and are so friendly! when we went to check out the guy in front of us said he wanted to buy our breakfast, he wouldnt let us pay. he was very generous and we thanked him greatly. then we boarded after eating and spent the next 4 hours crossing the country and landing in Atlanta Georgia! it was humid and hot and we were all still so scattered, but we kept track of everyone and everyone got all their needs met and made the next flight just fine. We called home ...sorry if i was unable to call you we only had a few moments to use the phone and they were very expensive to use.... when we landed we were all planning on going to get lunch, a man stopped us and said he wanted to buy us all lunch!!! wow there were 13 of us, we kept thanking him and declining but he wouldnt have it! he got 10 pizzas and 4 boxes of wings and drinks for all of us! that is quite the bill....but he was so generous, then after he paid and then took off without saying a word.... the lord is deffinetly looking out for us while we are wearing these tags. Then i ran into a service men, named patrick, we had about a 10 minute talk before we took off from salt lake to georgia, when i got off the plane in georgia he handed me a letter that he had written while on the plane. in the letter he explained that i had a huge spirit about me and that i would to wonders in peru, he quoted a scripture and told me i was a giant amongst men, it was such an amazing letter i kept it in my journal! then we boarded and took off to peru! it was such an amazing flight! i flew over so many amazing places and you would not beleive the sites i got to witness... a purple sunset above the dark clouds while a thunnder strong loomed below us!!! the cracks of lightning light up the sky! it was awesome and we watched the waves just beat down on eachother!!!! i will never fortget that picture... We arrived at the airport and there were sooooo many poeple there and no one speaks english so we relied on our spanish to get around i love this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more than anything!!!!! i never want to leave! the culture is so deifferent. driving is INSAINE!!! people fly all over and their horn is their favorite thing ever!!! non stop beeeep beeep beeep!!! wild dogs are everywhere and the buildings are all rundown and some are burnt and just look like nothing i had ever seen before it is suck an amazing place to be!!!! if you picture rio in brazil, the large mountains with building climbing the hills! thats this place! the mtc is awesome the rooms are like hotels and they have the coolest veiws... i took pictures so dont you worry, sooner or later ill have them sent out. the food is phenomanal!!!! i love it, they have real chefs cooking for us and it is amazing, but the rules here are super super strict, we arent even aloud to shake hands or touch eachother and stuff its intense. but i love it. my spanish is better tahn i had anticipated i can talk with the locals just fine, i was pleased my that. the money here are soles...its 2.7 soles to the dollar. its so amazing how things work here, temp is in celcius and everything is in kilometers and idk its a whole new world to me! i dont even think i can do it justice describing it without you being here! i wish you were though! this the greatest experience of my life! and i am gonna live here for 2 years!!!! we get to go to the lima temple next week and i will take some good pictures then and sooner or later get the memory card sent home. i love this place and this people more than anything, you can never know how blessed you are until you see a place like this, basic things are huge privillages, i have been and will continue to be truley humbled....this is the greatest life anyone could every live...i will never forget this experience.
